School of Education, ESE-IPVC
Created in 1980 by Decree-Law 303/80 of 16 August, the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo [IPVC] located in Alto Minho, a territory where human occupation and activities have developed in a tradition of valuing natural resources. The IPVC’s aim is to pursue quality human, cultural, scientific, technical and professional training through its Higher Schools, to carry out the necessary and appropriate research to pursue its mission and to cooperate with the regional community, particularly in its productive and business fabric, from a perspective of permanent dialogue and mutual appreciation.
The School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (ESE IPVC), created by Decree-Law no. 513-T/79 of 26 December, was the first organic unit to be part of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo when it was created in 1980. It began operating in 1984 and became fully operational in 1985.
The ESE IPVC is a school in the public polytechnic higher education network dedicated to teaching, research, providing services to the community and collaborating with national and foreign organisations in activities of common interest.
