École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL

The École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL in Paris is an art and design school founded in 1766. It offers advanced education in various creative disciplines. Renowned for fostering creativity and innovation, preparing students for careers in the arts and design industries, École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL has been a place of intellectual, creative and artistic ferment for over 250 years. Each year, it trains over 800 creatives in 10 sectors: Art, Interior Architecture, Film Animation, Graphic Design, Product Design, Textile and Texture Design, Fashion Design, Printed Image, Photography/Video, Stage Design.

As co-creator of the EuroFabrique project together with the GrandPalaisRmn and ANdÉA, the École des Arts Décoratifs – PLS participated in two EuroFabrique events: Paris in 2022 and Cluj in 2023. In 2022, along with the Swedish School of Textile (Boras), it presented “Waterways”: by evoking the movement of humans and non-humans along waterways, the project features a textile installation that explores the potentials of weaving, a metaphor for connection. The school was also responsible for the “geography” of the event, with its Stage Design students staging the 10,000 square metres of the Grand Palais Éphémère as a factory, a laboratory and an assembly. The 2023 edition in Cluj (Romania) was an invitation to experience a new format of experimental school-fabrique, presenting to the public the results of artistic dialogues based on mythological themes and addressing Europe’s contemporary challenges.

The École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL, as a founding partner of EuroFabrique, continues to support the project through EuroFabriqueCamps and its deployment in new sites and formats.
