The School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho (EAAD) develops research and advanced training in Architecture, Design and Visual Arts within a framework of complementary knowledge. It is the specific nature of education that contributes to the sense of community shared by teachers, students and staff, promoting integrated knowledge that contributes to the development of a project-based methodology, which is indispensable for professional practice in Architecture, Design and the Arts.
EAAD is divided between the Azurém and Couros campuses, providing it with a privileged location and access to the city, which contributes to its geographical and social proximity to Guimarães. In addition to curricular training, extracurricular activities of an educational, cultural or recreational nature are encouraged. These activities contribute to enhancing human education at the highest level, in its ethical, cultural, scientific, artistic, technical and professional dimensions, and to the personal, social, intellectual and professional education of its students, contributing to lifelong learning and the exercise of active and responsible citizenship.
