Action publique

For EuroFabrique, ÉSAM Caen/Cherbourg chose to collaborate with artist Julien Berthier, whose guiding principle is “not to leave the world in the hands of specialists.” Berthier’s collaboration with students focused on engaging with public space, questioning how urban environments are constructed and for what purposes. Is the notion of public space still relevant? The project aimed to complexify rather than simplify reality, challenging the often reductive approaches of political and commercial entities. It sought to provoke a deeper reflection on the nature and functionality of urban spaces, encouraging a more nuanced understanding of how these spaces are shaped and utilized.
