Waterways- Aquatic Networks

Waterways – Aquatic Networks explores the circulation of humans and non-humans through water routes, towards and across the European continent. These aquatic spaces are both links and boundaries. Within these aquatic networks intersect two distinct situations: the ecological degradation of rivers, lakes, canals, seas, and oceans, and the human dramas related to migration and life paths within these spaces. The project took the form of a textile installation exploring weaving as a metaphor for connection. The fluidity of the textile material corresponded to the idea of circulation through water. Individual threads form the fabric just as individuals form a community.
