EuroFabrique Ukraine Solidarity Fund
Only a few days after the 2022 Eurofabrique event Russian forces invaded Ukraine. The co-organisers of the event decided to set up an operation to support students displaced by the war and host them in the art and design schools of the EuroFabrique network. To make this support possible, the sponsorship teams at the Rmn Grand Palais have been mobilized to raise funds, and the ANdEA team have been working with the EuroFabrique network to put in place the conditions for hosting the students in question. The aim of the solidarity fund is to support schools and academies in the EuroFabrique community that offer refuge to art and design students fleeing Ukraine and provide them with a safe space, opportunities to continue their studies and material and financial assistance. This fund could be useful for schools that are geographically close to Ukraine, which receive a very large number of refugees, and which do not benefit from support schemes as developed as those in France.
Seven months later, emergency aid totalling 75,900 euros has been collected and distributed, providing support for 59 students and 69 grants.
- 26 students received emergency grants of 1,800 euros each (with 7 renewals, i.e. 33 grants awarded)
- 25 students received production grants of around 500 euros each (with 3 renewals, for a total of 28 grants awarded)
- 8 students were helped to integrate into the school by receiving 2,700 euros in funding for French as a foreign language courses.
The students were welcomed at three European schools (KISD – Köln International School of Design in Germany, AVU – Academy of Fine Arts Prague and Art Academia of Latvia) and 9 French schools that are members of the EuroFabrique network.
